HELP YOUR BUSINESS NAVIGATE THE FUTURE WITH DOUGHNUT ECONOMICS
As businesses face a future influenced by climate change and the urgent need to operate within the planet's ecological limits, the significance of adopting the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) becomes paramount. Uncertainty can breed anxiety in the business world, leading to suboptimal decision-making. How can your organsation adapt and thrive amidst these challenges? Our Doughnut Design for Business workshops are designed to alleviate stress, mitigate risk, and clarify a proactive path toward sustainable practices in the 21st-century business landscape.
What is Doughnut Economics?
“The Doughnut creates a safe and just space in which humanity can thrive between the planet’s ecological boundaries and our minimum social foundations.” — Kate Raworth, economist and author of Doughnut Economics.
Doughnut Economics presents a vision for human prosperity in the 21st century, promoting a mindset essential for achieving a sustainable future. Think of it as a compass guiding us toward a future where the needs of all people align harmoniously within the planet’s ecological limits.

UNDERSTANDING the Doughnut Economics framework
The Doughnut comprises two concentric rings: a social foundation informed by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals that ensures everyone has access to essential services, and an ecological ceiling that prevents humanity from exceeding crucial planetary boundaries vital to sustaining life on Earth. The area between these two rings defines a doughnut-shaped space—an ecologically safe and socially just sanctuary where humanity and business can thrive.
The concept of the Doughnut first emerged in a 2012 Oxfam report by economist Kate Raworth and has since garnered international recognition from diverse entities, ranging from the Pope, the UN General Assembly, to the Extinction Rebellion. At the core of Doughnut Economics, Raworth’s 2017 book offers a philosophical framework for envisioning an economy that uplifts humanity while respecting the ecological limits of our planet.
