EcoProsper Consulting: Your Partner in Sustainable ECONOMIC Solutions
Founder Tom Foster
Welcome to EcoProsper Consulting. We work with organisations and communities to tackle today’s interconnected challenges with clarity, creativity, and systems insight. Founded by Tom Foster, EcoProsper exists to support those building a safe, just, and sustainable future - socially, environmentally, and economically.
We bring together practical experience, academic insight, and a deep belief in the power of human ingenuity to drive transformative change. A Systems Thinker with Real-World ExperienceTom’s sustainability journey began during his Electrical Engineering honours degree at UNSW, where he majored in Systems & Control with his thesis at the ARC Photovoltaics Centre of Excellence. This technical foundation sparked a lifelong commitment to building better systems - from industry to economics. Over a career spanning three decades, Tom has worked across the corporate, SME, government, and community sectors, and has co-founded a company. His corporate experience includes roles at Honeywell and work with clients such as BHP and Sydney Water. His broad exposure, including work in carbon-intensive sectors, has only deepened his resolve to help organisations lead transitions toward low-impact, high-integrity futures.
Experience Across Economic Development, Funding and Sustainability Tom’s work has increasingly centred on enabling just transitions - including supporting the development and diversification of the East Arnhem Land economy in ways that honour Indigenous knowledge, promote self-determination, and expand opportunities for those most disadvantaged. He has also worked extensively across government and not-for-profit funding systems, supporting both grant delivery and oversight. From the National Indigenous Australians Agency, early-stage ventures in AusIndustry's Entrepreneurs’ Programme and more recently Youth Off The Streets, Tom understands the mechanics - and the challenges -of grant-funded work.
This cross-sector experience underpins EcoProsper’s Resilient Grants Stewardship service: a practical support offering for grant applicants and recipients, as well as funders, focused on improving governance, reporting, and internal systems to build trust and reduce risk.
Grounded In New Economic ThinkingMotivated by a desire to rethink the foundations of modern economies, Tom is completing a Master of Economics of Sustainability, where he maintains a Distinction average. His academic focus includes Ecological Economics, real-world Microeconomics of firms, Sustainable Health Economics and Modern Monetary Theory, and the evolving frameworks needed to secure prosperity within planetary boundaries. Tom also brings tools and facilitation experience that make systems thinking accessible, including Climate Fresk, Doughnut Design for Business, and En-ROADS climate policy simulations.
A Practical Partner for Sustainable TransformationWhether you're seeking clarity on the climate challenge, rethinking your economic vision in light of emerging ecological and economic paradigms, or improving your organisation’s approach to grants management, EcoProsper provides grounded, collaborative support through:
